วนกลับมาอีกครั้งกับงานประกาศรางวัลทางดนตรีแห่งปี Melon Music Awards 2021 (MMA 2021) ที่จัดขึ้นเมื่อมอบรางวัลให้แก่เหล่าศิลปินจากข้อมูลทางสถิติ ผู้ใช้ คะแนนโหวต และอื่น ๆ บนแพลตฟอร์มสตรีมมิ่งดนตรี Melon ปีนี้เป็นอีกปีที่งานประกาศรางวัลได้จัดขึ้นในรูปแบบออนไลน์ โดยไม่มีผู้เข้าชมงาน เนื่องจากสถานการณ์การแพร่ระบาด COVID-19
ในปีนี้ BTS คว้ารางวัลกลับบ้านไปถึง 5 รางวัล หนึ่งในนั้นคือรางวัลแดซัง อย่าง Song of the Year จากผลงานเพลงฮิต Butter ด้าน IU ก็คว้ารางวัลกลับบ้านไป 5 รางวัลเช่นเดียวกัน ซึ่งรวมถึง 2 รางวัลแดซัง อย่าง Album of the Year และ Artist of the Year นอกจากนี้ ไอดอลเกิร์ลกรุ๊ป aespa คว้า 4 รางวัลมาครอง ซึ่งรวม 1 รางวัลแดซัง อย่าง Record of the Year มาครองอย่างน่าภาคภูมิใจอีกด้วย
